Daryl Smith received her Bachelor of Science in Engineering in Electrical Engineering from the University of Saskatchewan in 2008. She is currently registered as a Professional Engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan. She is also registered with the Project Management Institute as a Project Management Professional.

Daryl participated in the Engineering Professional Internship Program (EPIC) with the U of S and completed a one-year internship with ATCO Electric. During this internship, she was completing planning activities on the distribution system. Common activities included Load Analysis, Coordination Reviews, and Contingency Studies.

After graduation, Daryl began her career with Rutter Hinz as a Project Engineer. Through the transitions of the company from Rutter Hinz to Rockwell Automation Canada LTD she maintained this position. Over the years she completed many substation design projects. These included the capacity increase of substations, greenfield substation design, the upgrade of feeder protection, transformer protection upgrades, and relay replacements.

Daryl began working with NEES Consulting in January 2016 and has been continuing work as a design engineer with similar projects to those from her years with Hinz/Rockwell Automation. She also acts as the Technical Lead of the team. Recently she has completed work for a client which required the completion of electrical studies (i.e. Short Circuit Analysis, Coordination Analysis and Arc Flash Analysis). She has also completed training to complement her skills in Project Management.

Daryl is an avid volleyball and softball player and loves enjoying the beautiful province of Saskatchewan.
