Grant Kang, P.Eng.
Grant Kang has over 5 years of experience in the field of electrical engineering. He received his Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of British Columbia in 2010. He is currently registered as an Engineer-In-Training with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan.
In China, Grant began his career as an electrical engineer in the Shanghai Underground Space Architectural Design & Research Institute. He was responsible for electrical, fire protection and lighting system design for various underground parking lots and apartment buildings. He later joined Shanghai Electric Power Design Institute Co. Ltd. Where he was responsible for substation and transmission line design.
Grant moved back to Canada in 2013 and began working at Rockwell Automation as a Project Engineer. Over the years he completed many substation & switching station design projects from 25kV to 230kV. These included the capacity increase, greenfield substation & switching station design, feeder protection upgrades and breaker replacements.
In January 2016, Grant continued working as a Project Engineer with NEES Consulting primarily completing a detailed electrical design for substations and switching stations. He has his Level 2 Certification for use of CDEGS Grounding Software and has completed many grounding analysis and design projects. He is also proficient in the use of CYMGRD, another Substation Grounding Software
Grant also loves reading novels and playing computer games.
